An update on Ducati and being too hot for their Own good.

It wasn’t that long ago we were all talking about a sexy new Ducati bursting into flames due to divine greatness.  Okay, maybe not because of anything divine, but maybe because of user issues or even manufacturer issues.   Who was at fault?  Will we ever get more info??  Like an Italian themed episode of Scandal.  The “Ducati Files”.

The updates are coming in.  We can at least connect the dots anyway.  MAYBE.

Earlier this month, the NHTSA released a series of recalls impacting the beloved Panigale.   Its like saying Cindy Crawford wasn’t very hot int he 90’s.  STOP.  SAY IT AINT SO!

Adding to the plot, the recalls involved the fuel system.   Specifically a breathing /valve plug and a faulty O Ring.   Because of this O ring issue, fuel could possibly leak from the tank.   From a fuel tank near a roaring 220 hp powerplant designed for pure , raw power.   You can see how that might be bad.

The second recall involves the fuel cap .  Because of the tank pressures, when openning the fuel tank there could be fuel that sprays out .  Again, fuel spraying out of a tank sitting on top of a hot motorcycle engine.   THAT IS NOT GOOD!

With both recalls being related to a fuel leak, the urgency of this repair is very high.   This is a repair that the owner of a sexy new Panigale V4 should not hesitate to have done.

For such a perfectly set up bike its surprising that 2 little things can cause so much trouble.

The BIG O.   O-RING that is.
