Enter the Quantum Realm
There are only a few among us that can conquer the realm. The quantum realm of motorcycling. Its a mysterious and confusing thing. Does it exist? Is it real? What does it look like?
Yes.. You MAY be Ant Man. You may even be Dr. Strange. However if you are in California, you are likely just a dude (or gal) on a motorcycle. Lane splitting IS the quantum realm of motorcycling. Only those that dare to cross over and with the right set of skills can safely do it. And unless you are in the state of California, legally do it. Its so risky. So DANGEROUS (right) that it its not legal anywhere but there.
You may occasionally see someone boldly splitting between cars on I-35 during rush hour, but that is likely a lone wolf. Somewhat of an Avenger . A two wheeled agent , searching for that last infinite stone.
Crossing Over
If you are are going to cross over into the quantum realm (assuming again that you MUST be in California since you are a law abiding citizen), here are some tips from the California Highway Patrol (Yeah , CHIPs)
- Watch your speed
- Assume the other drivers CANT see you
- Avoid blind spots
Other tips might be: watch your mirrors, keep your arms in,protect your levers, stay off the road markers (dots or lines) as they can be slick, and watch for turn signals and subtle changes in wheels (you can actually see cars turning by watching their tires)..
Jumping into the quantum realm is not for everyone. It can be fatal for those that dont know how to navigate it.
If you feel like jumping into that realm, be sure that you are prepared and can return safely to the real word.
