Midlife Motomadness and surviving COVID-19

2020 has started with a slight distraction to say the least. From a concern about the fading motorcycle industry, to concern about a pandemic. Surviving COVID-19 is the global concern at the moment. Everyone is locked on to either CDC or Johns Hopkins for the most up to date info.

The globe is on lock down. Everyone is “staying put” . Stress abounds. Supplies are “appearing” limited (EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT-except PPE and medical devices). We sit back and wait. Our only goal is surviving covid-19.

TIPS:

  1. Wash your hands often
  2. Stay in except for essentials: food, medications, gas , exercise
  3. Practice social distancing (6ft)
  4. DONT SPEND ALL DAY WATCHING THE NEWS

The reality is , this will pass. Unfortunately, many will be impacted. Illness, loss of job, loss of financial nest egg, and loss of sanity. However, there are things you can do to survive COVID-19. Think of it as an extended break to fine tune your bike. More of that “ZEN” time with your ride. If you have not finished your winter bike project, now is the time. As the “lock downs” get lifted, we’ll have many opportunities to ride and stretch out that tach. The odds are, we’ll see more lock downs this year. Up utill we have a vaccine.

You also need to invest in your own well being. However, stress and lack of physical activity will cause your immune system to become even more frail. Keep in mind, you’re almost in the most fragile demographic being affected by COVI-19. Keep telling yourself you’re not, but we all know better. Stay active , clear your mind, and be well.
