It was a great trip! Please elaborate!

We are midlife.  Call us weekend warriors.    We don’t take “trips” .   We go on adventures.

Just once, when someone asks  you, “How was your weekend?”  Wouldn’t you like to throw at them a “How much time do you have?”  What kind of opportunity do you have to elaborate on what you actually did.  The places you went and the near life ending accident you avoided .  The speed limit you tested .  Over and again. We journey’d across the vast plains of Kansas avoiding rogue deer and John Deer tractors on narrow bumpy roads. The repair you had to make with a rusty old nail you found on the side of the road and some twine you cut off a hay bail.   No embellishment , obviously..

Too often, we simply summarize our most entertaining and enjoyable moments into a simple statement.  “It was great”.

Tell Me More

There has to be more than 3 little words.    Take a moment and relive the fun and challenges you overcame.   The unexpected bumps in the road that nearly caused you to bail.   The police officer that you just KNEW was going to turn and flip the lights on.    Elaborate .

When someone asks you how your weekend was or your roadtrip, they are screaming to you “MY WEEKEND WAS BORING!”  Please give me something to smile at .  Some sort of reason to muscle through the day with a sense of hope that fun is out there if you only look for it.

Elaborate for their benefit.  Not your boasting.

Maybe there is some boasting.  Why not ?  Memories are meant to be boasted and embellished.   Fun is a factor of your creativity.

Ride , report, and relive.
