3 blips on SUZUKI you might have missed this month

She’s ready for a moderately fast paced ride..

GOOD OLD SUZUKI

The big S has been on many people’s minds this year. I must admit I do have a certain fondness for my old Suzuki and the many trips to the Suzuki dealer when i was young. As 2019 has begun though, with the motorcycle industry close to being put on the endangered species list, Suzuki has stood out, for NOT standing out. Aside from the excitement around the KATANA, most people will think of the GSX line , which has not changed much in the last decade. Their jump into the neo classic line has been minimal to say the least. BUT.. they still are the same gold old Suzuki that we have grown to love.

Dont be a hater!

They are, as you’ll see , more than just the GIXXER folks. Here are 3 things you might not know about Suzuki in 2019

1.They are working on a TURBO. That’s right. Forced intake, power producing, and fun loving turbo. Check this story out from Cycle World. Should Kawasaki be worried?

2. They are bringing the BIG back (DR BIG). Big sexy , before there was JT. A big and bold ancestor to the modern adventure line. The new DR might not be a mega crazy single , but more of a twin , shared with the V-STROM line. Capable though. Ready for more than just those pretend rugged trips to Starbucks. Check this teaser out from MCN.

3. They might just be half cocked. They recently filed a patent for a new engine that is…unique. A typical engine, with the top of the cylinder toward the top of the bike, this is not. The head facing the front fork, rotated (half cocked) Check out this write up from WEB BIKE WORLD.

Keep your eye on Suzuki as this year goes. They may not be the boldest or the most dominant, but that doesn’t mean they are sitting idle , waiting to fade away.

Keep riding.
