Motorcycle manufacturers are rolling out factoids and clips highlighting the performance and functionality of their electric motorcycles. We already know that even MotoGP is stretching into the E Bike space. The battle has begun!
The recent headlines are focused on just a few
1.Harley Livewire. Finally, an affordable and modern bike from a leader in the motorcycle industry. Ok, maybe not affordable, but they are in the race for electric motorcycle supremacy..
2. Zero SR/F. The small but mighty electric motorcycle company has finally put its big boy pants on with their new machine. Coming in WELL under the cost of the Livewire, the SR/F will be the one to watch. With a longer range (200 miles) and blazing top speed of over 120 MPH, this bike IS what the Livewire should have been.
3. LIGHTNING STRIKE. Stepping up the game to a steroidal /Bro-Science level. Think of it as the E-GIXXER (at least until Suzuki rolls one out) . Capable of 150 MPH and coming in UNDER 13K. YES PLEASE!
The electric motorcycle revolution is building up steam. As the technology and design materials continue to improve, there will be more and more reasons to switch to an electric ride.
The question that i have is… What will a future SOA spin off sound like when the bikes … MAKE NO SOUND????.
