The cold days of April have me searching for a song.

via Daily Prompt: Song

It’s Spring.

Its something I’ve said many times over the last few days.   BUT IT’S SPRING .

I should be riding  on some open road, looking over the horizon . My only concern being where to stop for coffee.   Snow, sleet, rain, and 30 degree temps in Kansas City have caused the mild depression that i was hoping to leave behind me bubbling back up.

There is a cure though, knowing that there must be an end to this weather, that can get you past the dull, cloudy, and rainy days.  Music lifts the spirit and  soothes the soul.   There is a line from a  90’s movie that goes :

“Sing a song every day, keep your voices high and gay, if every body sang a song, never would the world go wrong”    From With Honors (1994).

Gas up that bike, plan a trip, check your tires, and then put on some music and get ready.  The weather will change and soon the open roads will be calling.  Put on some Foo Fighters, Metallica,  Steve Miller Band, Garth Brooks,  or whatever takes you back.   Music has a way of finding the memories to let you realize that nothing lasts forever.  Good times and bad.  There will be more days.   A song can show you the way.

“In the end, it doesnt even matter” Linkin Park.

This weather will soon give way to 70s and 80s and loads of sunshine.   When it does,  there will be a new song in my head.   A new anthem to guide the way across the state .

What song gets your day flipped around?   There is one.  We all have 1 (or more) that can turn our spirits around.

“Sing a song every day, keep your voices high and gay, if every body sang a song, never would the world go wrong”

Find your song, find your route, and when the time is right..ride.
