With the second stage of the Tour De France up and running it’s also a highlight of the motorcycles that you want to ride long, twisty roads in comfort. The stars of the race are names like Froome, Gaviria, and Kittle . The true hidden heroes of the race are a different type .
MOTORBIKES

- Concourse: 1352 cc of aggressive moto. This bike is loaded with sport and convenience. With 4 beefy cylinders, 4 valve per cylinder, this beast can get you up the biggest mountain and across the biggest gap first. A film crews best friend. Load up with gear and a camera man, this beast has no problems keeping up.
- BMW
- GS : Not a sport tour bike like our green machine above, but a more nimble and even more versatile enduro class of bike. This guy , still likely to be seen two up, will be cutting in and out of packs and helping with the function of the race. With more than 120 hp , dont underestimate this contender. Its built for the long haul and versatility
- Yamaha
- FJR : Another beast of a bike rolling the 1300 cc mark. Its another bike you’re likely to see those film crews using. With loads of storage, heated grips, and cruise control, this bike surely be leaving those lucky enough to be sitting on them , smiling at the end of the day.
No Easy Ride
Roundabouts , narrow roads , obstacles are everywhere. Drunken fools standing in the road, dogs off leash, banners and flags, and other riders. The job of a motorcycle rider in Le Tour is not a cake walk. None of the wonderful shots and riders level images would be possible without motorbikes The race , being slow speeds (for motorcycle) and loaded with potential crashes, requires constant focus and superior technical skills.
There is a reason these bikes are chosen by race support and film crews. They get the job done.
The motorcycles people every year put thousands and thousands of miles on. They are reliable, sporty, and functional.
