The Performance in France : Allez M1

When you think of performance and France, images of Le Mans or of Alpe d’Huez.   A lean and super fit cyclist climbing what seems like a never ending slope to only daringly navigate a decline at what are unheard of speeds for most bicyclists.    Le Mans has been a testing ground for motors and technology for decades.  Manufacturers create new engine management systems, braking systems, cooling systems, and in recent times, hybrid systems.    This has been seen an the cars we see on the street for many years now.   While it started out by conjuring a blah and boring vehicle(Thank you Prius) with minimal performance value, that really isn’t the case today.    That’s just cars though is n’t it?

Enter M1

In 2015 there was an idea.   An idea born from the historic Le Mans experience.   Fast forward to 2018 and the concept  M1 was revealed.  The brain child of Furion Motorcycle. Move over Yamaha, Kawasaki, KTM, and Suzuki.  There is a new naked and she comes from France.

Gone are the days of under powered and boring hybrid transportation.    The M1 boasts a combined 175 HP loaded into a naked bike frame weighing in at a bit over 500 lbs.

By comparison, the Yamaha MT-09 comes in at a bit lighter 414 lbs and 114 HP (which only comes at an incredibly high RPM)

So , while the M1 may come in a bit heavier than that funky hyper-naked from Yamaha, the added power and more importantly the access to that power will be something to review.   Once released, this bike may completely dominate the segment.

While it’s too early to post a side by side review or test ride, we are excited by the M1 and the bold step Furion has taken to make hybrid technology stand out in motorcycle performance.

While at MidlifeMotoz, we do love our old bikes and throw back bikes, there is no holding back the future.  The future is electric, at least to some degree.   Allez M1.

Keep riding .
