Managing Midlife Stress On Two Wheels

April is National Stress Awareness Month. There may be no better time to point out that life can be full of ups and downs . The successes and failures of each day, weak, and month have gotten you to where you are currently. MIDLIFE.

Midlife stress is not a novelty or headline, its a real factor in health and well being. How you adapt and get through this phase of life may predict your health later on in life. Possibly even your risk for dementia.

One proven way to cut loose of some of that midlife stress, anger, and anxiety is to jump on two wheels and twist that throttle. Its a topic that Harley Davidson and UCLA even felt worthy of study

After a few years now of riding, it its clear to me that the mind clearing benefits of riding a motorcycle, combined with the physical effort required to do so , are a positive 1 -2 punch.

The Simplicity of Two Wheels

Taking time to disconnect and focus only on the machine, the road, and the scenery will be all that you need.

Following my first weekend of riding, nearly 200 miles of running around, coffee runs, and simply “blowing the cobwebs out”, i too feel as if I can take on anything. I am more in-touch and calm. The midlife stress that i carried into the weekend is no longer.

As you look for ways to stay active, challenge yourself, and de-stress, don’t overlook that simple two wheeled machine.

Get out and ride!
